Any interesting approach might be to have those considerations in the entries themselves. Using with a Monster Friendly Game (ala Vampire); Using with an Agency Game; and using with a straight Horror game. You could probably do the same thing to make materials work for a supers game.

@Edward: Absolutely. Cities of Harn was one of my favorite books- but primarily for the maps. I always hoped for more from that. I ended up using the city layouts in a variety of games.Lowell Francishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02359280169506945906noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4764158821384594980.post-988515262038238082012-06-03T20:01:11.212-04:002012-06-03T20:01:11.212-04:00Great review thanks, have you ever looked at Harn ...Great review thanks, have you ever looked at Harn or aming i dating myself.Edward Otthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17408434056681586554noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4764158821384594980.post-18719466770506521522012-06-02T17:39:01.031-04:002012-06-02T17:39:01.031-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09889003193300686506noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4764158821384594980.post-20744186932255629182012-06-02T08:37:47.980-04:002012-06-02T08:37:47.980-04:00I think there is a large enough fanbase for modern...I think there is a large enough fanbase for modern supernatural/horror games that something along these lines could work. Between games like Buffy/Angel, Dresden Files, Supernatural, and Uknown Armies, I think it's a relevant purchase.

I don't know that White Wolf did a book along the Citybooks lines, but several of their New WoD products remind me of the "general books for several game lines" idea that Citybooks provides. I used the old WoD citybooks much like you use these citybooks when I was running WW products..

I think doing this ala Kickstarter could also be cool. Come up with a list of authors who could contribute at different dollar amounts, different types of settings at various dollar amounts, or even the ability to request from a list of setting types could be the stretch goals.

*Really, it shouldn't be too hard to do at all. 400 words of fiction, 1200-2400 words of setting material/new rules, a stat block or two of whatever (at most 2), a half page of art, and a quarter page (maybe) of art. Done.

**Drivethrurpg.com has over 3000 game products related to modern settings. While I'm sure there's plenty of chaffe, I think it speaks to the need for product.

***Is there a not-so-old-school, modern horror rpg revival coming along anytime soon?

****I like this idea far too much.Undeadhosthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09131084242228738203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4764158821384594980.post-25858467683613952232012-06-02T02:18:26.180-04:002012-06-02T02:18:26.180-04:00"I want to be the Bob Ross of gamemastering.&..."I want to be the Bob Ross of gamemastering."

We should all aspire to this.biopunkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11614894519622906554noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4764158821384594980.post-58811251443112031232012-06-01T15:57:52.972-04:002012-06-01T15:57:52.972-04:00I love the idea of the additional volumes in the C...I love the idea of the additional volumes in the Citybook series!

Long time ago I was a sucker for generic supplements, bit like you, I found that I could make anything fit anywhere with some work.

But, I hope Rick Loomis is listening, because I'd buy those new volumes suggested in a heartbeat!AndreasDavourhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17170806742393291962noreply@blogger.com
