The "Races&quo...That's really hard to say. The "Races" section which includes giants, dark folk, fae and so on has its own section, perhaps 15% of the total. On the other hand, a number of the earlier monsters could be considered intelligent/sentient, but no exactly "races". C&T, like the Monster Manual, does seem like a grab-bag you have to pick and choose from to make work. Otherwise you're dealing with an overcrowded setting, as you suggest. And that seems . . . crowded. Especially if, like me, you feel the need to 'ecologize' all sentient species and fill in their backstory (i.e. "What role do orcs fill in this world that goblins do not?").

Hence, I tend to really pick and choose what sentient races from the MM usually appear in my worlds and in most cases tell my PCs, "In my world, if you haven't personally encountered it or asked around to verify that it exists, then don't assume that it does."Jeremy C.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4764158821384594980.post-85293097701961772862012-09-11T22:21:51.781-04:002012-09-11T22:21:51.781-04:00It was cool- and I get nostalgic thinking about it...It was cool- and I get nostalgic thinking about it, but man...that's a lot of rules to muddle through. I'm not sure I could handle it. I know there's some simplified versions of it out there, like HARP, but I haven't checked those out. Something about rolling on your weapon chart against their armor rating and then seeing which critical chart you roll on and what level of crit it was going to be. If the devil is in the details then the devil was in Rolemaster. Been well over a decade since I last played it... wish I could revist those days just for a little while.PeterAmthorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18190359101341763641noreply@blogger.com
