So (as I mentioned before) RPG Geek has put together a contest for people to design an rpg within a single 24 hour window. The basics of that you can find here. All of those entries are finally in and everyone can go and take a look at them-- there are some pretty amazing ones there.
Probably the best place to get an overview of the submissions is here on this geeklist. It lists each entry, provides a quick summary and shows the representative image for it. Even if you don't go any further than it, it is worth looking through those 32 entries (on two pages) to see the kinds of things people came up with.
If you do decide you want to see more, you can click on any entry and go to the "Files" section of the item. There you can download for free a pdf copy of the rules for the game. I've downloaded most of them and have started going through. If you decide you want to, you can also vote for your favorite. You have to have an RPG Geek acount and you can find all of the details on that in this thread.
So if you like RPGs, take some time and look through the list and even perhaps grab copies of a couple of these to support the writers and their efforts.
